It hurts so much it’s numbing,

This feeling is so strange,

I know it has to happen,

We’ve all got lives to arrange.

Yes, it could be the end now,

Yes, this could be goodbye,

Yes, we are living through this time,

Which makes us want to die.

Who can say where we’re going?

I’ll keep hold of where we’ve been,

Our good times and our memories,

All that we’ve done and seen.

But please, just think this- I will,

As we go our separate ways;

‘I knew four special people once,

Who brightened all my days.

Who filled my life with smiles,

With friendship, fun and laughter,

Who have this place reserved now,

In my heart forever after.’

That’s not to say I’ll lose you-

I hope and pray I won’t,

But so much now is changing,

We’ll be lucky if I don’t.

So thanks for all the memories,

For all the love we shared,

It’s got me through these past five years,

Just knowing that you cared.

I never thought that I’d accept

This fact: It seems so strange.

It can’t stay the same forever,

But some things never change.
