Wow! My first entry in my new journal. These gel pens are perfect for the two books I got them with. Don’t you think, Harry?
Lauren went to see your 1st movie tonight. I hope she likes it, ‘cause I sure did, Harry.

Dear Harry,
Happy Thanksgiving! This morning I read this really weird book. It’s about a girl who needs to help a ghost save Fossil Glen. The ghost was 4’6” when she was 11. I’m 10, and I’m 4’7½”! I’m younger, and taller. The book takes place in 1998. I was 7 when that happened. Its setting was Seneca, N.Y.
Later tonight, I’m going to tell you about our Thanksgiving party, o.k.?

We’re about to get going to grandma and grandpa’s house for Thanksgiving. I’ll talk when we’re there, or when I get bored.

Lauren and I are writing letters to each other. I’m listening to rap on my radio. I don’t especially like it.

Dear Harry, I promised I’d write. My day was great! I played at someone’s (Lou’s) house and had a great dinner. The dessert was donuts, pie, whipped cream and ice cream. I had the most wonderful day!

I’m glad that you’re not like Tom Riddle. You’re nicer. I just love this lovely blue bookmark! I like its color.
Dear Harry,
Tonight, I’ll be at Lia’s house for a sleepover. We’ll probably play Truth or Dare if there are other people. We’ll get to swim in her spa.
So much for my first basketball game ever. I got elbowed in the throat, bumped on the eye, and scratched on the finger. To top it off, I got fouled twice and we lost. Outside, I tripped on a rock and scraped my ankle. I didn’t have a lunch at school either.
Great day, huh?
Update: We’ve now lost 4 games.
Starting in the morning:
At lunch, I sat 5 inches from Matthew. He’s my X-boyfriend. I haven’t sat that close to him for years!
At recess, he sided with Ryan. Next time, he’s going to help him with some friends.
Basketball practice was worse. Emilia’s dad was assistant coach. He bossed me around a lot. I really don’t like him!
Dear Harry P.,
Recess didn’t go well today, Harry. Matthew and his friends weren’t even paying attention to Ryan.
We had Mrs. Koffer today, and she was horrible!!!
At P.E. we did the pacer. I got 21, two more than last time. Worse, Mr. Fogle was teaching us. He yelled like crazy! It was a great day.
Dear Harry,
We had a great concert today. All the schools in the district were there. We sang “Festival Alleluia,” “Catch a Falling Star,” “Freedom will light the way,” and some New York songs. I’m lucky. Our substitute was Mrs. Ween! I stayed at Mom’s school in the afternoon. My favorite student was Amanda.
I hope that I can keep your tape away from Lauren long enough!

I went to Michael’s house. We helped Gina and Hannah build their secret “Smoothy Shop.” Michael and I worked on a secret passage and finished it. I’m listening to your tape.

Today Russell and I had a big fight with Alexis. She cheats at everything! She was probably smug because she beat me by cheating in the situp test, but I beat her fair and square in the pushups. I got 18, and she only got 16.
