I smile kind of sweetly
And say 'you and I, me and you
we're both in the same boat, aren't we?'
In that it hurts to hold on,
But I couldn't stand to let go.

And you laugh, kind of bitter,
Saying you know (youknowyouknowyouknow)
That I never fell in love anything like how you have
But you should know, I'm just better
At self control (I have to be)

Then you hug me, kind of bittersweet
And when held in your arms,
Hope starts to blossom, blossom, blossom
But soon enough you'll be gone
Leaving me to the painful process of
Deflating it.

(just stop kidding yourself already, please. you know he doesn't feel like that and it's doing you more harm than good.)
