She felt Hades writhing in pain inside of her.
Cy whimpered, twisting under the covers as the pain became a quicksilver hell spreading through her lower body.
The nightmare played. She saw her murderous lover grasping a Shinigami and felt it's pain.
“P-Please Seth,” she begged, her own essence melting into the dying God's. His face was still so handsome as he grasped her life and tormented it, strung it out and pleasured it with those blood soaked finger tips.
Her eyes rolled up into the back of her head, “Please...”
She saw him hesitate, a intense suflex of pain manifested in those emerald laden eyes. “I lived and I died for you.”
They both screamed as he finished the Shinigami off. Black blood foamed up from her lips as she jerked from the bed and threw herself to the floor, sobbing. “Hades!”
“Cy,” Seth screamed out, tossing the body across the room. The power that crept into him felt tainted and sickening. He heaved a small pool of blood on to the floor, surprised how hard it was to suppress the pain.
His only love sang such a sad song to him. He saw her wearing her little white dress atop Big Ben, hair flowing in the wind as she leaned in to splatter her beauty on the sidewalk below.
“No Cy,” he pleaded, stretching his cloak out to catch a vague breeze, “Must you leap, be it into me!”
Tears flowed down her face, “ I feel their suffering!”
“And I feel yours,” he cried, racing through the night sky towards the ominous face of time.
She gave no answer. He saw her leaping, dress blowing around her figure as she tumbled backwards through the night.
He caught her against him and they stared deeply into one another.
It was startling to realize how deeply he felt for her. He cupped her tears as she began to sob.
“I'll never be anything,” she whispered into his chest, “I was never conceived in love.”
Seth held her tightly as their pain melted into a soft, loving dance in that glowing face announcing it was midnight.
“Rest in me and I'll comfort you,” he murmured. “That I swear.”
“Seth, I love you,” she cried into his coat as she grasped it between two hands. “Lie to me and say you love me too!”
He pressed her to him gently, face sparkling with pain, “I love you, Cy.”
“Why won't you let me go than?!”
He shut his eyes, unable to bear that. “I can't. I can't let you go, ever. I died for two years with you, Cy but now we can live together once more.”
Her tears satiated and destroyed him simultaneously, “I was not meant to live. You brought me back on a fake birth and sometimes I...”
He shook his head, hating how his voice became so gentle for her alone, “I can't let you leave me...”
Cy sobbed against his chest as he swept over to the ledge and sank down into the cool shadows with her.
“I will never forsake you,” he whispered, “Remember my promise, Cy...”
Sink into the darkness, become one with me, and you shall never hurt again.
“I want to hurt though,” she sniffed, wiping her eyes. “I want to suffer for all that I've done. I want to suffer until I can feel good about who I am...whoever that is!”
He tilted her chin up to him and smirked, still managing to be soft as he murmured, “Could I have loved you had you been this person you think you claim to be?”
“I don't know,” she sobbed quietly, shutting her eyes as he lapped at her tears hungrily.
They needed not to understand their loved. It was profound and sadomasochistic and all other things that make truly epic romances throughout history. A romance beyond words, where a feared, psychotic man who once claimed the title of dark knight sat quietly with his perfection.
