Have You Ever Noticed?

By: Gothic Lust

Have you ever noticed how her eyes sparkled in the dark?

How things never seemed to go too fast, how things went too slow?

Have you ever noticed that the world turns swiftly on its axis?

The Days turning into nights and years changing her face?

How the scent of a rose, so sweet, is dulled when placed in a shallow grave?

Have you ever noticed how you can’t seem to cry in the face of pain?

When touching her hair, stroking it tenderly, hoping she may awaken?

No, it is when you are alone, and the family is gone.

It is when you’re alone in the dark upon your bed and amongst the pillows,

It is here where you remember the pain and sadness,

The good times and the bad and the memories of times past.

It is when you’re alone, facing yourself in the shadows that you cry,

Knowing that tomorrow is when you put her away forever in a shallow grave.
