A simple kiss
by: Gothic Lust
It was meant to be gentle,
Just a touch, chaste and sweet.
He never meant to linger,
To indulge in the flavor of her,
Of the one he could never have,
The one that always belonged to another man.
Yes, it was supposed to be gentle,
A onesided passion, a simple kiss.
But warmth of her lips,
The feel of her touch,
Her response to his bold move,
He couldn’t pull away.
He lingered, he dared to stay.
He dared to claim the one he could never have,
The woman he always loved
But never told.
He wondered if she would regret this,
If she would run away from him,
Never speak to him, or kiss him again.
How he wished to pull away,
But she invited him in,
And he, without any more thoughts,
Indulged himself in this one moment
Praying that she would too felt the passion
Of his undying love in this one kiss.
After reading AriadneInLove's poem "Taste of the one you love" I got inspired to write this poem about kissing. So this is for AriadneInLove, my good friend who inspired me to write this with her poem.
