RE:Untitled
Many thanks for your submission and apologies for the delay in replying to you. We have now finally had a chance to look through this and unfortunately it isn't one for us this time around.
Rather than just writing you a standard rejection letter we wanted to make a few (hopefully constructive) pointers about exactly what we are looking for when we look through submissions.
First and foremost we are looking for a great story that is told in such a way that we can't put the book down – we want it to grab us from beginning to end and we want to miss the characters when we do finally put the book down! However, we do also always look for something that has a clear target reader so that we can identify exactly where we are going to market this book. We also need to be able to attach a good marketing angle to either your work or you as the author to give the book that little bit of an extra push in an already very competitive market. These are just a couple of pointers as to why we may have rejected your work and rejection by no means indicates a lack of talent on your part.
Sorry not to have been more positive and best of luck with your submissions.
With kind regards
