Awake all-night and dragging during the day,
But that’s how it goes to find your own way.
After all, we don’t last forever.
And sleep seems like a waste when I can do somethin’ better.
It’s no worse than taking hard knocks, of which I’ve had my share.
Pushed hard, knocked down. And you know they don’t care.
But in the end, it doesn’t matter, you see.
Cause no one else will remember the pain except me.
Besides, I’ve got something to work with now
Scrambling to get these haunting thoughts out.
And my brain is on fire with these lyrics, this rhyme
And it’s only just a matter of insanity’s time.
Cause if I don’t get it out, then I’m going to burst
And we both know that holding it in is just worse.
So I’ll stop what I’m doing and write it all out,
Afraid if I don’t say it I’ll lose what I’m about.
