These Stained Glass Windows
She was the hunchback
He hid her in this stone cold cathedral
From behind these stained glass windows
She watched her world fall apart
She said, "Oh, all that I ever loved"
And she fell back into her only home
This stone cold cathedral
And her friends were silent
Her friends were silent.
And when 400 years passed
The stars were gone and neon lights lit up those skies
And the dresses were shorter
And there was only cleavage and wine and red lipstick and smeared eye liner and drunken giggles
She was the hunchback
Hiding in this stone cold cathedral
From behind these stained glass windows
She watched her world fall apart
She was the ghost in the attic
Who made the bells sing when they lost their voices
Though she couldn't hear them
Because her friends were silent
She said, "Why was I not made of stone like thee"
And she left her only home
And when she found his grave
She had found her only home
