The Madman
I once met
A madman
Who wished that
He would never die
I told him
He was a fool
And swore that wish
Would make him cry
Two hundred years
Have passed now
My body long since
Underground
The madman
Has grown tired
But rest cannot
Be found
My life's reward
Is not disturbed
As he wonders
Once again
If the edge
Of a precipice
Can undo the wish
He made back then
