On Christmas
Christmas comes but once a year,
It’s time to share with those so dear.
The house is decorated with wreaths and candles,
Stockings are hung on every mantle.
When Christmas comes around, I’m extatic,
I’t time to get the decorations out of the attic.
The ornaments sparkle in the dim daylight,
The angel shines brightly in the night.
A family joins around the fire,
The small group grows into a choir.
They are thinking of the savior’s birth,
the day redemption came to earth.
People think about why we give gifts,
You will notice that though outside there are drifts;
With everyone nice and warm,
You’ll want to give gifts, even during the storm.
After Christmas dinner it’s time,
To listen to the Angel chimes.
Round and round the angel twirl,
The chimes bring Joy to a little girl,
On Christmas.
