The Bullet

I woke up last night; I heard steps down the hall,

Then I heard screaming, without doubt it was Paul.

I was afraid with my eyes open wide,

I just knew there was nowhere to hide.

Too quickly Elizabeth was already dead,

Her life was gone, her pillow was red.

Closer and closer the murderer came,

Now I hoped he was filled with shame.

Little Sophie was next to die,

The murderer followed her whimpering cry.

I ran to her side, to fight to the end,

Even if I was the one to ascend.

Holding her hand, I knew I was dead.

I saved her and her mother with a shot in the head.
