She said “dear, welcome to reality –
please enjoy your stay.
The beds can be a little uncomfortable
and the bread a little stale.”

She said “dear, welcome to reality –
you’re in the room down the hall.
If you’re feeling a little lonely look
up at the moon, because someone else
is looking at it feeling lonely too.”

She said “dear, welcome to reality –
it sometimes bites, so do be careful.
I hope you brought your raincoat, because
it does tend to rain, but if you’re lucky
they’ll be a rainbow afterwards.”

She said “dear, welcome to reality –
please try not to get hurt.
The insurance around here isn’t too great,
and once you’re dead, you’re dead.”

She said “dear, welcome to reality –
now listen carefully to me.
Whatever you don’t try to be different,
because here in the real wonderland
no one likes it.”
