In God We Trust

Look at them, the fallen;
Lying withered in their beds
Look at them, the children;
Tomorrow they’ll be dead
Look at them, the parents,
As they hold their child’s hand

And look at us, the heroes,
As they surrender to our band

In God we trust.
In God’s name we fight for freedom—
In God we trust.
In God’s name we will kill them—

Defend home and country and let’s win the war!
Wait for the world to start turning once more;
We can’t be wrong, they came and knocked on our door!
The civilians of the enemy aren’t civilians anymore…

Look at them, the fallen;
Watch as they run away.
And aren’t we supposed to be the heroes?
Aren’t we supposed to save the day?

But in God we trust.

We have a right, we are chosen—
We have a dream, they were forgotten—
This is our country, and this is our war—

And in God we trust.

As a young man runs away with his dead daughter in his arms;
As a mother kneels, protecting, of a son who did no harm;
As two lovers lay entwined, soaked in each other’s blood;
As two best friends kneel before us, pleading—
Is this supposed to make us strong?

But in God we trust.

Look at them, the fallen;
We’re not supposed to be in charge
—But in God we trust—
It doesn’t matter who’s a killer and who’s not…

Because in God we trust.

an: I'm an athiest, if you can't tell. No disrespect meant to any religions here, only to those who take advantage of religion and twist it for their own personal measures. Also, offense meant to President Bush and his oh-so-lovely administration. Yeah. I wanna offend them, too. They're assholes.

On that note, I take my leave.
