Another day goes by,

And the world seems more corrupt still,

Not quite what we say we are,

While our indulgence just makes us ill

We need wars to make the world go round,

And killings to make the world spin

But somehow, I just don’t know anymore,

If I like the world I live in.

We say we understand the problems,

And how we can make it right,

But self-righteousness will make us blind

And soon everyone will loose moral sight

We say our hearts go out to them,

When really they’re still beating within,

We promise we can make a difference,

But know we can’t change what others are given.

We claim to care so deeply,

But we’re pretending, to make ourselves feel good

Faking our way through this world,

Lying, like we knew we would

And in this world of hypocrites,

We all will drown one day,

In metaphors, too cryptic to understand

In madness, we don’t delay

There’s so much we don’t like in this world,

And I wouldn’t know quite where to begin

And somehow, I just don’t know anymore,

If I like the world I live in.
