A/N: This is a poem that I wrote a few months back for one of my poetry class in uni. It is dedicated to London, the city I was born in and it explains what it means to me. Enjoy!
The Heart of Great Britain
Walking around the streets of London –
London, the heart of Great Britain
Black cabs are driving around while
Vast crowds of people are flocking towards
The attractions like the London Eye and
Even the Natural History Museum –
One of my favourite museums ever
God, I would like to go there again…
Despite the fact that London is
Always thriving, this place is
Where I normally go just to
Loose and find myself
A/N: To be honest when writing this poem I had the thought of London being like a second home to me even though all my life I’ve been brought up in Essex, which isn’t all that far from London itself. I would like to hear from you on what you think of this poem.
