It was also never surfaced in anything that his character was in either.

Poison Ice
Prologue
By: SilverIsamu
“Isamu! I’ll race you to that tree and back!” The young boy’s voice called out to his dark-headed friend just a few feet away.
Getting in a position which looked as if he could bolt at any time, Isamu replied, “Oh,okay!” He began to initiate the beginning of their race by saying ‘ready, set-‘ but before he could utter the word ‘go’ his friend’s voice chimed the word as the other child took off running ahead, determined to win the race.
“Hey! You cheated!” Isamu whined and took off after the other boy, who was laughing in victory at his surprise attack against his friend.
“Alls fair in friendship and war!” His friend replied, his shaggy, bowl-cut hair wisping in the wind behind him as he took off as fast as he could. He tried to get as much as a lead on Isamu as he possibly could. He finally came up to the tree and touched the rough bark and swung around it as if it were a giant pole.
He continued towards Isamu who was still attempting to catch up, despite his speed loss. Chimiri laughed at the struggling boy as he ran past him. Isamu finally went around the tree and headed after the child with the bowl cut.
“You can’t catch me, you can’t catch me!” He sang victoriously then noticed that his friend was neck and neck with him. “Huh?” How did the child get that fast? Chimiri was sure that he had the race won for sure. He let out a yell in surprise and sped up, trying to lose him.
Isamu held a look of fierce determination in his eyes as he sped up and passed Chimiri. He had beaten the boy. The two slowed down and stopped. They both hunched over and panted to themselves. It was a good race and the two were exhausted from using so much speed.
“How’d you beat me, Isamu?” Chimiri asked with a smile on his face. He then congratulated him for winning.
“You used all your energy when you didn’t need it and I didn’t so I beat you.” Isamu told his friend. “Thanks Chimiri.”
“You’re welcome.”
The two boys smiled at each other. The sunlight bounced off of his blue eyes and illuminated his green hair, which verged on black. It was long for a male child’s extending to his shoulders already at such a young age. Chimiri gave him a happy chuckle. He was an innocent child with a shaggy bowl cut. His hair was midnight blue and his eyes a brilliant gold, wide and innocent as any child’s were, ready to learn all he could about the world he came from.
“Chimiri!” His name being called sharply cut through the two male’s happy moment as a woman with dark blue curly hair and brown eyes walked up to them. “Time to come in and wash up for dinner, you can see Isamu at school!” His mother’s sharp voice cut in.
“You too, Isamu!” Isamu heard his mother agree with Chimiri’s.
“Well, there’s my mommy, I guess we can have a do over tomorrow after school.” The playful child nudged his friend’s side with his elbow as his friend laughed and said ‘okay Chimiri’. Then the blue-haired one ran off to his mother and uttered ‘tomorrow’ in an ominous manner before his mother called his name in a harsh tone, annoyed with his dawdling. Chimiri flinched before he ran off to her. He turned and looked over his shoulder and then waved back to his friend once more before the two of them walked away.
When they were a considerable distance from Isamu, his mother questioned him.
“Why do you play with that little boy? There are so many other children you can play with.” She remarked cynically.
“What’s wrong with Isamu? He’s my best friend.” Chimiri didn’t see why it was such a problem to play with Isamu. His mother never liked him much and he could never understand why. Isamu never had many friends. He felt sorry for him.
Isamu must be so sad.
“Well, I just don’t like it. Their family is just plain creepy, especially his mother.” She took a glance backwards, her brown gaze setting its sights upon the woman. It was true; his mother didn’t exactly look as a normal person did. She wore strange attire and had long, thin hair that was of the same green, verging on black as her son. Her eyes were also an odd color- yellowish green and very cat-like. Just looking into them would send chills up and down someone’s spine.
“He has no other friends, mommy…” Her son seemed saddened by this. He didn’t like it that no one seemed to like Isamu. To him, Isamu was a kind and gentle soul who was very sad and lonely,
From the distance, Isamu hung his head as he walked towards his mother who was waiting in the doorway. The crestfallen boy trudged inside, reflecting on the barely audible words that had just been exchanged. His mother gazed upon him with a sympathetic look.
“Are you alright, Isamu?”
“Why does his mom hate me?”
“I don’t know, son…” His mother replied, then thought, ‘Maybe it’s because she can sense that…’ Her yellow-green eyes gazed after the two for a minute before turning to her son. “Come on, let’s get inside. It’ll be okay, I promise…”
“Yes mother,” the child agreed obediently as he walked inside to eat dinner.
XXX.
At the dinner table, Isamu had just finished up his food and placed the fork down on the plate below. It made a small clank as metal collided with glass. Solemn eyes looked to his mother’s dark figure. “Mother, I have a question.”
“Yes, Isamu, what is it?” She turned to him; her green-black hair shimmered in the setting sunlight.
“Why aren’t you and father together anymore?” He had wanted to ask the question for a long time but was afraid to do so. He didn’t know, even now what her reaction would be but he had to know.
His mother looked thoughtful for a few moments before answering him. “Hmmm…Well…Your father and I sometimes were in separate worlds.”
“What do you mean ‘separate worlds’?”
“Just finish your meal and go to bed. You’re prying…You just wouldn’t understand until you’re older.” The woman remarked. The subject made her feel uncomfortable and the slightly irritated look on her face was all it took to realize that.
“I’m sorry,” The child looked to the ground. “I didn’t mean to pry…”
‘Wouldn’t understand what?’ He wondered.
“…You’re done. Go get washed up for bed.” She told him. She wanted to get Isamu off subject and she hoped that by sending him off on his way that he would get distracted and not return or question the matter further.
‘Why won’t mother ever talk about father?’ Isamu walked off to wash himself.
A few moments afterward, the woman caught glance of her son walking down the hall to head off to bed. She had pondered over her relationship with his father and his question played over and over in her mind, much like a broken record repeated specific lyrics of a song.
“Isamu, I didn’t mean to be rash but your father is a poor subject for me.” His mother finally spoke; her words caught the boy’s ears as he turned his attention fully to her. “We definitely had our differences; we just couldn’t find a common ground except when it came to you.” The long-haired woman walked down the hall and ran a feminine hand through her child’s green-black hair and knelt down to look him in the eyes. “I just want you to know that…”
“I do mother…” Isamu replied and then looked thoughtful for a few moments before asking another question. “Mother, can I at least get his name? I have been curious a while and I thought it wouldn’t hurt to just have a name. What’s in a name?”
His mother was silent before caressing his thin hair. “Suzuki Byakko…”
“Hmmm, Suzuki Byakko eh? Thanks mother…I needed that.”
She let out a soft laugh. It was barely audible to most ears. She then said her good night and kissed him on the forehead. The child closed his eyes when she did so, enjoying the small gesture of affection.
“Good night mother…I love you…”
“Love you too, beautiful one.” His mother complimented before she left.
Isamu then went to his room and shut the door softly behind him. He took off his robe and pulled the covers over himself. ‘Byakko is my father’s name…That would mean that I’m a Suzuki…Isamu Orochi-Suzuki? Cool…’ He closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.
A few hours later, the sound of something pecking at the window repeated itself through Isamu’s mind in mid-sleep. The sound was so repetitious and constant that it soon brought him up out of bed. The child went to his window and peered out of it to see his friend, Chimiri chunking pebbles and twigs at it to get his attention.
“Isamu! Wake up!” Isamu could hear the faint sound of his voice.
The sleepy child rubbed at his tired eyes and opened the window. “I’m trying to sleep, Chimiri…”
“Sleep? You? That’s a first! Let’s go play in the woods! My dad just got me cool new spy gear!” The excited child beamed.
“What for?”
“Oh, it’s just an early birthday present.”
“Your birthday isn’t for a few weeks, Chimiri…”
“It’s just that he’ll be gone on my birthday…So wanna go?” He asked his friend in hopes that he’d agree.
“Sure, hold on.” Isamu moved away from the window as he dressed in his robe and slippers. The child silently crept through his house with great stealth for someone so young and managed to slip out of the front door without being detected by his mother.
He ran up to his friend and told him that he was ready to go but they couldn’t be out too long and reminded him that they had school in only a few hours.
“Oh poo!” Chimiri frowned. “Who needs school when you have enough spy gear to conquer the whole universe!” He then handed Isamu spy glasses, some other equipment and a walkie-talkie.
“Well…” Isamu took it all and put it on.
“Let’s go!” His excited friend called out and took off running towards the woods with Isamu following close behind.
XxXxXx
Chimiri put the walkie-talkie up to his lips and attempted to communicate to his friend.
“Orochi-chan, what’s your position?”
A few feet away, Isamu spoke into his walkie-talkie. “Orochi-chan here, I’m a ways away from base, Imokizi-chan…over and out.”
“I’ve spotted you…” Chimiri replied as the boy’s dark form caught his glance. “The enemy is all around…Assume your position.” The boy spoke intently, as if their imaginary enemies were real and the situation was dire.
“Copy that…” Isamu replied as the faint hooting of owls could be heard echoing throughout the forest. There were also calming sounds of the night as the children played in the deep woods.
“It’s getting ugly out here…” Chimiri looked around the woods. The sky was pitch black and it was the night of a new moon. No stars were present and it seemed that even the trees now held a towering and ominous presence to them. Slight fear was setting in and Chimiri felt the urge to get closer to home.
After all, the night had a tendency to transform everything into something ominous.
…and Isamu was no exception.
All of a sudden, the boy’s senses were sharp and alert. He seemed to dwell on his friend’s fear as unfamiliar feelings swept through his body. His adrenaline pumped and he began to feel energized and slightly blood thirsty. He looked around the woods, his eyes seemed to work better then ever before.
‘I feel…different…more energetic…my sight is becoming blurred…’ He thought as his once clear vision now began to decrease in clarity until everything seemed like a blur. He stood there, stock still and silent. His eyes were shaded by his hair and he frowned.
“Come in, Orochi-chan…” He could faintly hear on his walkie-talkie. It was as if Chimiri had literally been across the forest, even though the communication device was still in his hand. Isamu was silent still.
“Orochi-chan! Are you there?” The shaggy haired child walked towards the direction of his friend. Isamu had been quiet for a long time and he wondered if something might have happened to him. He put the walkie-talkie down as he walked up to the boy and looked at him with wide, innocent eyes. “Hello? Are you okay?”
Suddenly, the boy smiled an eerie and arrogant smile. “I’m fine Chimiri…I just got this feeling…” He spoke, all too calm for the once happy child that his friend had known.
Chimiri laid a gentle hand on his shoulder. “Maybe we should go home.” He suggested.
“Maybe…But I’m not tired.” His friend replied in the same emotionless tone as before.
The child backed away a little. He looked a little uneasy. “Well, then what’s wrong? You’re acting weird…” His voice held uncertainty to it.
“Remember when you said that the enemies were all around?” Isamu asked, looking him in the eyes. The greenish-black haired child’s eyes were a yellow-green in coloration with the pupil of a snake and as he spoke; his friend could see what looked like fangs in the other’s mouth.
He didn’t understand what was going on. What was wrong with Isamu? He was afraid and the fear rushed through his blood, being transported to every part of his body and filling it with dread.
“W-What about it?” He backed away from the silent child.
“I-Isam-mu?” He questioned nervously and in fear. He took his hand away from his shoulder and backed away slowly. His friend lurched forward and grabbed his arm tightly and the boy screamed in fright.
“Let go! Stop it! You’re hurting me!” His friend screamed in pain.
Isamu laughed in the mannerism that a creepy little kid in a horror movie would. His impish cackle echoed through the dark woods.
“Let go! You’re scaring me!” Those were the exact words were the ones that he longed to hear. The words that excited him beyond all belief. The words that urged him to do one thing- kill.
“Chimiri? Why do you look so afraid?” He asked in a taunting voice, his voice calm and monotone as if the child’s fright didn’t even affect him. The boy in his grasp whined and struggled to get away but his efforts were futile. Some of his spy gear and walkie-talkie hit the ground with a clatter.
“Shh!” Isamu replied, getting closer and closer to his face. He was so close that the child could feel his tainted breath upon his skin. The very feel of it made his skin crawl. His quieting sound only made him react more and more off of the fear that he felt. He began to squirm around violently, which only made Isamu’s claws dig deeper into his skin.
“Ow! Stop, Isamu!” The child pleaded but his pleas were ignored.
Then Chimiri’s vision was clouded as something landed in his eyes. It was some sort of liquid that came from his friend’s mouth. His eyes stung as they felt as if they were being eaten away by the burning liquid. He began to cry out of dismay, fear and pain.
Not only was he in a bad situation but he was blinded and could not see what was going on.
“I can’t see!” He cried as he could feel the pain in his arm from his swollen wounds. The boy released his former friend, who backed up blindly and tried to run but tripped over a tree limb and fell to the ground. Isamu grabbed his arm again, going down to the ground with his prey that struggled and whined below him.
Isamu proceeded to bite and bruise his prey to death. The boy soon stopped moving below him, a sign that his friend’s life had been ripped away from him beneath the cruel blow if his best friend.
Indeed dark things lurked in the night…and enemies were all around…
