I've cradled death in my arms
Held its hand in mine
I've seen people fall down
To the ground in the grind
I've seen people go cold
From the pain built inside
I've seen hearts fall apart
And dementia's decline

But also...

I've seen good things and great dreams
Nirvanic sublime
I've seen people grow bolder
Their souls galvanized
I've seen true love go warmer
Not worn down by time
I've seen people, chests high,
With great pride in their eyes

I've seen angels among us
And saint world-savers shine
I've seen people so virtuous
That they never tell lies
I've seen people with honour
Refuse to sit idly by
I've seen people reach up
And grab hold of the sky

I've seen many horrors
In my small, petty life
But I've also seen WONDERS!
Spririts LARGER than life!
I've seen blackness and darkness
And brilliant, bright light
I've seen rain days and snow days
But also great, glorious sunshine
