Chapter 13
(6 months later)
“We should have eloped, I knew it!” Krissi wailed. She paced around the small room in her white and silver dress. She had wings attached to the back of the dress, and sparkly silver lining around her eyes. She looked every inch the fairy princess. Every inch the agonized fairy princess…
“He’s probably decided not to come. That’s why he’s not here so close to the starting time. What if he doesn’t show up? He probably ran away. I’d like to run away! Remind me why I thought this was a good idea?” She rounded on the other girls in the room who were looking on, amused at the spectacle she was creating. Her oldest brother waited outside the room, wincing as he heard her stomping around.
“It’s alright. I’m sure it’s just traffic that’s keeping him. We do have a lot of guests here. But then, I suppose that’s natural, what with the entire Counsel here along with family and friends.” Leah spoke up glibly.
Krissi glared at her then began wailing again. “Oh, this was a mistake! Maybe I can sneak out the back door and pretend that none of this ever happened.” She looked at the bridesmaids, bedecked in fairy cut dresses of blue and green swirls, with attached fairy wings. They looked back at her blandly and she sighed. She knew they wouldn’t let her out of the room.
“He’s here.” Meredith came into the room grinning. “He’s already made his way to the front, and it’s time to start.”
Hearing that, Alexi came into the room, grinning. He looked his sister over and grinned. “You look beautiful. Father asked me to hand you over since I’m leading the Counsel now. Is that ok with you?” He asked.
“Of course it is.” She smiled at him. Then she sighed. “Let’s just get this over with.”
Everyone walked out of the room and into the church, as though they were stepping into a new era. And perhaps they were.
Woot! last chapter, finally. sorry, it's a little short...
Thanks to everyone who has read my story. :D I'm so glad you've made it to the end of this story! (this is actually the first story I've ever finished, which is pretty exciting- thank you Meri for pushing me to finish this!)
I just want to let anyone who's interested know that I will be writing a sequel, it will be called The Power of Change. I will go more in depth with the other characters and such.
please review, I always accept constructive criticism as well as praise. :)
