A short introduction to better explain the concept and the author's reasoning, which is probably not needed, but leaves the author feeling important and witty. And really, isn't that what it's all about?:

To be perfectly honest, I've never held much stalk in fanfiction. I've read very few that have had any real substance to it, or even good writing for that matter. Needless to say, I avoided reading fanfiction.

But about a month ago, I got realllly into the Mighty Boosh and to satisfy my intangible craving for Noel Fielding/Julian Barratt slash, I began reading a lot of fanfiction. And I was surprised to discover several fanfics that amazed me. They were well written, original, and relied more on the ability of the writer as a story teller than the fandom.

One of those fanfictions had 26 snippets of stories based on 26 songs by bands that started with the proceeding letter of the alphabet.

And of course, sick of toiling away at my NaNoWriMo novel, I decided I would try writing 26 original stories based on 26 songs in corresponding alphabetical order. And, I would try to write one a day until I was done, and make them as amazing as the fanfics I've read.

Of course, in all reality, it's very unlikely that any of these will be amazing, much less all 26, but what's life without goals?

Essentially, all of these are going to be fairly short. Probably nothing over 1,200 words. And most of them will feature characters from other things I've written, maybe in situations that would not be plausible in their other story. It takes too long to make up new characters anyway.

And it might do you well, if you can, to listen to the song the story is based on while reading it.

Anyway, without further ado, we shall begin with the letter "A".
