With A Brave Face

I felt it sink in, the way my life is slowly passing me by,

So I went to the peer, and I lined my hands up to the ocean.

I held them out towards the water, floating high.

If there was a God could he reach me?

If there was hope would I know it?

If there was love, would I feel it?

When my arms began to ache, from questions building high

I let them sink to my sides and picked up my stride

By tomorrow I'll know all the answers that held my breath.
