Under unsuspecting balconies,
You can hold my mittened hand

We’ll create a stitch, solidly staying,
(In that moment).

Let’s define love in the middle of a
Coffee shop-loudly laughing at each other’s
Whimsical comments and politically incorrect
Slurps. Under the table our toes are dancing
Together to romantic tap-jazz-blues,
Almost unnoticeably we experience,
(This delicate desire).

We’ll go to a place that’s a home to one
Of us and a house to other and we’ll define
Undercover love- that’s right- two bodies
In pure. Tangled. Passion…naïve to the clock
Tick ticking. Those moments will be an eternity
Of pleasure for they’ll stay magnetized to our minds forever,
though in depleting forms.

Let’s define love as you scream
And I scream and dishes cascade across the room
To crash and break in unison to a heart or two.
Yes, we’ll define love as we contemplate pill popping,
This thing which we once
Called perfect-ideal-magic
(was so impermanent...)

Oh we'll define love as we call our lawyers,
sign for custodies, break in old couches
with chocolate icecream breaths.
And when I see you
with your sunset smile and feet
which once flirted and eyes that once laughed,
I will forget that stitch, solidly saying,
