To tell you the truth…

This place is awful. It really is.

I’ve lived here for as long as I can remember and I don’t want to stay here another day. The walls are musky and damp, so thickly lined with mildew that it looks like a patterned piece of wallpaper. The floors are either slippery or sticky, made up of thick, uneven concrete slabs that catch your foot at the most inconvenient times to make you fall. If I could describe the way it felt in short, I would say that the atmosphere was the color of milk tea, brown and suffocating.

They never feed us proper food, just some watery stuff which is supposed to fulfill all our nutritional needs. Packed into grimy plastic containers, these ‘supplies’ hang from hooks in the wall next to our beds. Before we go to sleep, we have to stick a tube into a smaller one in our left hands to feed.

All day long we’re expected to work, to serve our king and the people. Children of all ages doing menial tasks like fetching and carrying, hunting for herbs and vegetation. The herbs which we harvest are used by the courtiers for beauty purposes, but they tell us that it’s for the good of the country.

What rubbish. Utter nonsense. I have to leave this place at the first opportunity that I get and that has to be SOON.
