I changed a bit of the first chapter, hopefully you notice the changes! lol, Thanks for reading:D

Chapter 1

"You have to come!?" My best friend Emily Winters shouted at me. I looked at her and carried on reading my book, 'The house at Riverton'. "Oh don't give me that look and carry on reading! I can't go myself!" Emily whined.

"Why not? It's not as if your going to need me there, Luke's taking you!" I said without taking my eyes off the book.

"Anna! Please, it's a party! Live a little! We're on our summer holidays!" I looked up. Emily gave me her famous puppy-dog eyes. Well I guess I could. Having your mom and dad being busy working people is a plus...at times. My Mum's a fashion executive, and Dad's a Doctor. My brother, Eric who's 17, a year older than me, was out the night with his friends. There was nothing really holding me back.

"Fine!" I said getting up.

"Yay!" Emily squealed and dragged me over to my closet. "OK well we're looking for something that says 'I'm available'...but not 'I'm a slut'." I whacked her playfully on her arm.

"Language!" Emily just laughed.

"Here we go." Emily handed me a stripe shrug dress. I quickly slipped it on, I put my black, ballet pumps on and looked at my reflection. I sighed, it had been a while since I had gone out to a party...or anywhere else for that matter. This school year was one I wanted to end as soon as I could. And it did, eventually. I tugged at my blackish brownish hair. I took my glasses off and put my contacts on. My emerald green eyes shone. I blinked twice.

"Good, you're ready! Luke's here!" Emily said turning back around. She liked to give people their privacy.

"Wait, my hair!" I said appalled that Emily had even thought of making me walk out with morning-night hair. She eyed my hair.

"Drop and shake it." I frowned. What!? I thought frowning. "Your hair. Put your head down and shake." She rolled her eyes at my stunned look. I put my head down, I could feel all the blood rusing down, and brought my head back up.

"There, you look great!" I opened my mouth to protest but Emily just dragged me out. I saw Luke there checking his perfect blonde hair and his perfect white teeth. Emily and Luke were like...soul mates. They had everything in common, blonde hair, blue eyes, perfect figures...at first I was a bit worried - we were best friends, Luke, Emily and me. One day Luke asked Emily out, she said yes. The thing I never told her was that Luke asked me out the day before, but I said no. Imagine my suprise when I walk into Emily's room to find my two best friend's sucking at each other's faces. I didn't say anything, it wasn't my place and besides we'd known each other since we were little babes. - I mean if they broke up, where would that leave me?

Luke got out of the car and greeted Emily with a kiss, or should I say a full on snog. I watched them, my eyebrows up. Once they had finished their makeout, Luke grinned at me. "I haven't forgotten you..." he said. I thought he was coming over to give me a 'kiss', but instead he gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek. Much more friend-like. I got into the back seat while Emily sat at the front. She offered to sit at the back with me, but why separate the love birds? Cliche' right?

"So where is this party?" I asked. I saw Emily look at Luke. "What is it?" I asked nervously. I hated it when they shared secrets, it made me feel so left out.

"It's at Matthews house..."

"Matthew!" I shrieked. This could not be happening. "Matthew James?" Emily gave me a weak nod. I groaned and slumped back on my chair. Matt was number one on my most hated list. Honestly, I couldn't deal with his arrgoance, and cockiness. I had to put up with him for about 11 years now! Our parents met through some business thing, I never really cared about the adult world. So we were constantly at his house and I was constantly getting pissed (not the drunken type). Matthew James, why him? I mean he was like my main reason for wanting to have this year over and done with. Going to his party would be like...eating an ice-cream of the floor. Not nice.

"Look, I know you've had your differences but...maybe..."

"Maybe what? We could pretend that he didn't tell everyone I liked Josh, and pretend that he never tripped me back in the second grade in front of the whole year? Oh, or how about we pretend he neve-" Emily cut me.

"I know. OK, we know. But you won't even see him there, there's going to be so many people there. Dancing, music, alcohol..."

"Oh whoopie," I said sarcastically, "The one thing I'm dying to have, beer!"

"Come on!" She said taking my hand, "It'll be fun, I promise."

"This is what you call fun?" I screamed over the music that was blasting out of the speakers. We could hear the music two streets away, it's a miracle no police were called. But then again, the James' were one of richest families in our neighbourhood of Oxford, which was pretty big.

"Come on! JUST DANCE! LET LOOSE!" She shouted as Luke pulled her away to dance. I rolled my eyes. I pushed past everyone and made my way to the backyard. I felt someone's had on my arm, it sent a tingle up my arm. I turned to my left, it was Matt.

"You always did have a love for parties..." he purred. Get me a sick bucket!

"The only reason I'm here is because Emily and Luke dragged me here." I crossed my arms, which made Matt's hand come off mine.

"Well, please do enjoy yourself," he said winking and walking away. Thank God he was going. I saw him walk over to the drinks table get two drinks, which was OJ, and walk back toward me. I guess I spoke, or thought to soon.

"Back eh?" I said coldly.

"Why the tone? How about I warm you up?" Matt said putting his arm around me and bringing me closer to him.

"How about no? And excuse me, I have to freshen up".

"Hurry back..." Matt said grinning.

"I'll try my best!" I said sarcastically. Matt looked a bit suprised, I think he didn't hear my sarcasm. I rolled my eyes at him and struggled to find my way back into the house. I walked up the stairs to the first floor, which consisted of 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a laundry room, and games room. The third floor had the same features. My house was normal, two floors, five bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 toliets, kitchen, dining...OK I'm going off track back with my story.

All around me I could see people making out, and it was the full on, why-don't-you-get-a-room ones. I walked into a toliet to find two of my classmates making out. I closed the door and tried to get that picture out of my head. Nasty!

My head was throbbing from the music and my feet were killing me, it had been a while since I had worn these shoes, which meant they had obviously become smaller. Damn Emily for making me agree to go with her to this stupid party. I opened the door to one of the bedrooms and found it, thankfully, empty. I looked around me. It was familiar. It was Matt's room. I took my shoes off and lay down on Matt's bed. The worst thing I could do was fall asleep, and guess what I did? Fall asleep.

I woke up to the sound of a door closing. I opened my eyes. There was a bulky looking guy standing by the door. I looked around me, I was on Matt's bed. I remembered that I was at a party and fell asleep. I sat up.

"No sweetie, lie back down, it's how I like you best..." My eyes widened with shock. My heart started beating faster and faster. I got up and made my way for the door, but he, whoever he was, was just too strong for me and pushed me back to the ground. I could almost smell the alcohol coming from him. He started undoing his belt. My heart skipped a beat.

"Please, don't hurt me...please..." I said tears streaming down my eyes. I had no idea what this guy was planning to do.

"Oh, I'm not going to hurt you because you're going to work with me...Strip." I shook my head sobbing. I got up and tried again for the door. The guy pushed me down again. I screamed. I screamed and screamed till my lungs were worn-out.

The guy started to take pull my dress down. "No!" I shouted, "Please don't!" I sccreamed again, hoping someone would hear. He pushed me onto the ground and lay on top of me. I wanted to die, right there and then. Just die. My salty tears still making their way down my face. Just then the door burst open. I looked up trying to make out who it was. Even though there were tears in my eyes and so my eyesight was blurred, I could clearly make out the large muscular guy. Matt.

"SON OF A-" I watched as Matt pulled the guy off of me and knock his lights out.

Matt pushed the guy out the door saying, "I'll deal with you properly later." Matt closed the door and looked over at me. I looked to the ground. He came and sat down next to me and I pulled my dress back on. I was still crying. Matt lifted my chin up, and wiped away the tears. I looked back down to the floor. The tears kept coming and my heart beat still hadn't come back to its normal pace.

"Thanks..." I mumbled.

I was just too ashamed to look at Matt. He just saved me from a near-rape and all I could do was say 'thanks'. Matt must have realised my embarrassment so he pulled me into a hug. My head was buried in his chest. I took a deep, shaky, breath in. I could smell cinammon and Mint, even though it was Matt James, I felt so safe. I just wanted to escape...everything.
