I dipped into the water
and jumped out with an audible cry;
my face was worn and bloodied then,
my muscles cut and hung to dry.
You smell like chlorine
hidden deep and unseen.
In the crevices of your skin
remembrance hangs like a faded cloth,
the colours wearing thin.
