BLACK ROSE

Alex was having a bad day, his best friend had died last week and today had been the funeral, 'they certainly chose the best day for this' Alex thought angrily, glaring out at the world through his rain soaked brown hair that was sticking to his face and irritating him. Staring at Kyle's tombstone he had to wonder why he had to go to that stupid party and end up getting into an accident due to his drunken state and killing himself. Angrily Alex glared at the tombstone letting a single angry tear fall hoping that with the rain no one would be able to notice.

A figure appeared at the tombstone, he left black roses and appeared to be crying he shook his head quickly and flew up towards where Alex was sitting, he flew past his window and went into his own apartment.

Alex stared into space unhappily. He didn't have the slightest idea of what was going on around him. All he knew was his day sucked, he was in mental anguish and he wanted his friend back.

There were loud bangs from above Alex’s room Tashi was breaking everything he owned in his grief

Alex snapped out of his reverie and went up the stairs to where the horrible crashing noises were. Hesitantly he walked over to the door where the sound seemed to be coming from and nervously knocked on the door and prayed that whatever was going on in there wasn't anything to cause him to be put in a bad position.

The crashing immediately stopped a tear stained Tashi came to the door "h-hi there can I h-help you?"

"Y-yes, he was my friend when I lived out on the street...he used to give me food and stuff..." Tashi replied "Do...do you want to come in?"

Alex stared at the man blankly until the man’s question registered in his brain. Finding himself unable to reply Alex just nodded his head dumbly wondering how a friend of Kyle's could live above him and he never knew it.

Tashi stepped aside so he could come in, then he realised there was a picture of his kissing Kyle from when they were lovers he quickly covered it with a blanket.

Alex was too upset to even notice the movement when Tashi covered the photo frame however he did manage to step inside, his eyes downcast until he happened to notice the state the apartment was in.

"Sorry about the mess...I...well you know that’s how I deal with grief...”

Alex shook his head dismissing the mess out of mind immediately "I understand..." Alex muttered thinking about his own intense feelings of rage. He had a burning need to release that rage on something and just let all his feelings out. He felt like his feeling were burning a hole where his heart used to be. 'Why did he have to do it?' Alex wondered spacing out completely forgetting that he was in someone else’s company, someone he had just met.

"I don’t know...” Tashi said sadly "I guess everyone makes mistakes...his just cost him his life..."

Alex started out of his thoughts with a cry of surprise upon hearing the man’s voice talking to him. "I'm sorry" he muttered in apology for his reaction trying to convey the fact that he was still upset about Kyle and didn't mean to space out like he did in a single look, pleading for the man to understand with his eyes.

Tashi closed his eyes and nodded "I understand" he said tears rolling silently down his face "S-so how did you know him?"

Alex laughed bitterly "We were best friends, he helped me out that time at school when he found me dying in the school bathroom, we were friends ever since"

"d-dying in the bathroom" Tashi repeated

Alex nodded grimly and gave another bitter laugh before removing his jacket and pulling his sleeves up to his elbows. Smiling with equal bitterness Alex presented his wrists to the man revealing multiple scars but the ones that were the most noticeable were the two large scars crossing each wrists vein.

"Ah" Tashi replied getting it "I see..."

"I was nearly dead when he found me and applied pressure to my wrists and somehow managed to get me to the hospital in time to save me" Alex replied pulling his wrists back and running his fingers over the cuts on his left hand unconsciously as was his habit whenever remembering that day. He spaced out again, his blue eyes clouding over slightly as his mind lost its grip on the here and now and he was 15 again sitting in the school bathroom dying from blood loss, smiling happily the entire time.

"I wish I could die" Tashi sighed

Alex blushed even more and took the water from the man sipping it slowly staring all the while at him. Once he had drained the glass he discarded it on the floor and took he sandwich the man offered giving him a thankful smile.

Tashi nodded back going to the window and sighing, "So I take it your Alex?"

"Kyle spoke fondly of you"

Tashi blinked and Kyle raised him brows, he went over and picked up the picture of them together and waved him in Alex’s face, Tashi was looking at Alex with a confused look "I am?"

Alex laughed and pulled Tashi into a kiss

"Oh so now with the kissing" Kyle sighed "I'll talk with you guys later" he said then vanished Tashi pushed away "He’s gone, were you serious?"

With dancing eyes Alex answered "Half and half. Although if you want me all you have to do is say so" He stated pleasantly

When Alex had eaten enough he put down his fork and smiled at Tashi finally completely awake and happy.

"You might want to get dressed" Tashi said casually

"I don't know, i never really have much time to think about these kinds of things" Alex answered "I'm usually busy"

"Oh...are you busy today?"

"No, I choose when and where i want to be busy" Alex said happily
