In the past,
Which was
The future,
All the walls
Collapsed
From time.
We had
Nothing left
To cling to.
Except for
Our will
And our lives
And so we
held each
other tight
Perhaps in
weakness,
Fear, or fright.
But you chose
To stand
unaided
Your strength,
Your pride-
I prized.
I longed
To be like
You were.
Alone,
aloof and
glorified.
But when You fell
In all that
Splendor.
I blamed
Your hate, not
gravity
this time
We came
Down all
Together.
Just like a
feather
from the sky.
And I found
You crushed
And broken.
Then I
Understood
I realized.
I didn't
Think it
Mattered
What lone wolf
You thought
You'd be.
But no tear
Can fall
Unshattered
And No hero
Survives
. . .alone
