The Koi-Okami tilts his head watching the bright red spilling out from Harvey’s throat. Slowly the creature leaned and licked Harvey’s hand. Harvey closed his eyes. That autumn morning his parents found him in the basement, the only to see his disavowed body. Blood splattered allover the walls,” Victoria said, “So what do you think?”

“Ahh…is there a thing call a Koi-Okami?” young Katie asked in fear. Trembling under her bed sheets.

“Oh no that’s only a myth. Just a made up story to scarce little five year olds, like you,” Victoria laughed tickled Katie.

“Okay?” Katie was still looking around just making sure there nothing there.

“You better get to bed Katie. Your parents should be here any minute. So get to bed or they going to yell at me again. Well goodnight, well don’t worry about the Koi-Okami it’s just a story. Here is Mr. Rio,” she hanging Katie her fluffy bunny. Katie shook her head and snuggled underneath her flowerily bed sheets. Victoria walked up and turned Katie’s nightlight. Closing the door but just leaving enough of a crake of light from the hallway. Victoria is walking down the stairs, then the front door opened. To see that Katie’s parents just arrived from their big Christmas party. “Hello and welcome home Mr. and Mrs. Howard, how was your party? I hoped you enjoyed it?” Victoria getting her shoes on to walk home.

“It was great. But I think Mrs. Howard is kind of drunk?” Mr. Howard said, but at the moment he was slapped across the head.

“NO…I…I...NOT…. DRUNK. MORE LIKE BUZZED…THANK EVER…YOU...MUCH,” she slurring and mixing up her word. She was trying to take her heels off but kept losing her balance. Mr. Howard reaches to keep her from falling then she threw up all over him. He looked at her and sighs. She looked up “I feel better,” and smiled.

“Sorry Victoria I would offer you a ride but you call tell that Mrs. Howard wouldn’t survive on her own,” he chuckled.

“It’s okay Mr. Howard, I can survive on my own. Thank you for the consideration. Plus, I think Mrs. Howard needs you more that I do,” Victoria watching those two trying to climb up stairs. “Well I better get going. Thank you so much and I’ll see you next week. Enjoy your rest of the night,” she opened the door and walked out. I was a very dark night.

She looked around to see neither one star out nor the moon. She was grateful that the streetlights were on. She was walked passed the city’s old cemetery. She took a glimpse to see a very old man, setting a dozen of flowers on a grace. The old man looked at Victoria. She felt this shock of fear running throw her body. She quickly walked to her house. While walking she could hear footsteps, a slow pace at first. When Victoria walked faster, the footsteps began to go faster. She was too afraid to look back. She could see her house a couple feet ahead. She sprinted the rest of the way home. She pulled her keys out and unlocked the door and went inside.

When she went in, she looked out the window to see there was never anyone or anything behind her. It was just her imagination. She sighs in relief, shook her head and headed up to her room. She opened her door, got a pair of pajamas and headed to the bathroom. After her wonderful shower, she sat on her bed and took a book off of her nightstand. The title of the book was Koi-Okami and Other Myths. “I’ll think I need to stop tell scary stories. I’m feeling myself to much,” she opened the book. To see a black wolf that walks on its hind legs and eating people. Its razor sharp claws and teeth sinking to people flesh. Its blood red eyes send her chills.

She opened one part of the book; the title was summing a Koi-Okami. She stopped, to look at the summing spell. “Don’t read in front of a mirror,” the warning sigh said. In the corner of her eye she could see her mirror. “Should I?” she shrugged her shoulders, “What can happen it’s just a stupid spell?” She sat up from her bed, walked up to the mirror. Laying the book on her dresser, she looks down to read this words,

“Starless sky, Moonless day.

Come to me Koi come to me darkness,

Flesh for flesh come and walk on this earth again.”

She repeated this three times and the last time she said it she closed her eyes. She opened them up and there was nothing. She huffed in disappointment. She walked over to her bed and lay there. “That was a big disappointment. But I should have known. It was just a tale that we tell little kids,” Victoria started to drift into a deep sleep. Later that night she was waken from a banging noise. She jolted up from her bed. She stumbled around getting her eyes adjusted from the darkness. She looked around and it was a close tree limb tapping and banging against her window. She slugged her body down to the kitchen to get something to drink. When she got to the kitchen she opened the refrigerator, grabbed the milk carton. Taking a huge gulp of milk, lighting hit the house and he light of the refrigerator disappears. Victoria dropped the milk carton on the floor and was chocking from the milk. After clearing her throat, she got some paper towels

After cleaning up her mess. She close the refrigerator door, she keep hear a dripping noise. It was too dark to see. So she grabbed a flashlight from the kitchen cabinet. When she turned the light on, she could see somewhat of her house. She carefully followed the dripping noises, loud and loud it got when she was close. The dripping noise was coming from the laundry room. Victoria was shaking and she opened the door slowly. When she completely opened it. There was nothing. She scanned the room with the flashlight. She saw something was in the dyer. She opened it and to her amazement it was her dog that she hasn’t seen all night. Her dog was skinned, the head be removed and she looked behind her there was her dogs fur hanging. Like it was something to dry. She dropped her flashlight. She ran to her parent’s bedroom.

When she reached for the doorknob of her parent’s room. Her mom opens the door. Covered in blood. Victoria was reaching for her mother. But something pulled her back in. The door was slam in Victoria’s face. She pounded on the door “NO MOM!!!” She heard the screams of her mother being torn apart. The door was shaking; Victoria’s feet felt warm. She look down and saw blood sipping from underneath the door. She jumped back, crying, looking around and not know what to do. She ran to her room and saw the papers of the book was scattered everwhere. “How could this be? It’s just a stupid book. This isn’t real,” she cried. Suddenly she could hear her parent’s door open. She quickly grabbed her cell phone and ran down to the basement.

She closes the basement door quietly. Slowly walking down the stairs afraid of making noise and tripping. She makes it to basement cellar. She opened her phone and called the police department. But she had no service. “Damn it, this a wonderful time. My parents were killed. What I am I going to do?” then she heard the base door open. She hid in some close. She held her breath so the monster wouldn’t hear her. “Please go away, this is just a bad dream,” she closed her eyes afraid what would happen. Soon enough she hear the base door open and close. She slowly opens the door and peaked outside, the monster grabbed her by the throat and held a couple of inches off the ground.

Why are you here?” Victoria grasping the monster’s arm, trying to breathe.

You summed me here. Remember…I’m Koi-Okami,” it’s claws started to grasp Victoria’s throat tighter. “You have awaking me. I’m not happy,” it threw her on the floor. “It is time to die…Victoria.” The Koi-Okami went on all fours and walked to Victoria.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to. I just wanted to tested if I would work,” she started to cry. “I didn’t know,” she yelled. “Please don’t kill med,” she move away the Koi, the she felt the cold of the wall.

“Sorry my dear, you woke me from my slumber and know you have to pay,” the monster was ready to attack. Victoria closed her eyes. The morning the police came to the house because the neighbors were complain about screaming. They found poor Victoria huddled in a ball. With many scratch marks all over her body. The police took her to the hospital.

“Are you ready to talk, Victoria?” A detective asked. Victoria just started out the window looking at the birds flying. And the cars going by. “Well maybe not today. Next time okay Victoria,” the detective said. Victoria shook her head, the detective walked up to her nurse. “Do you think she will get better?”

“I don’t know detective you have to give her time. She lost her whole family, because of a murderer,” the nurse said. The detective shook his head. Then the both went there separate ways. Later that night Victoria was laying down sleeping. She woke up to see there was a full moon out to night. She looked at her hands and smiled. The skin began to tear apart. Pieces but pieces falling to the ground. And underneath the skin it was the Koi-Okami. It smiled and jumped out the window and into the night.
