CHAPTER ONE: SAM WILLIS ENCOUNTERS THE BEAST

I turned the corner. I couldn't be too far behind him. The alley was dark tonight. More so than usual. The only light came from the moon above. The lunar light is reflected in the small puddles in the dim alley. I couldn't be too far behind. Where is he?

Suddenly from what seemed like above me. I was pounced on. It wasn't a man on top of me. It was something else. An animal? I tossed the creature off of me with such force and landed on its back. It stood up on two legs. Still it wasn't human. It was something bigger. Something with hair and bright crimson eyes that seemed to use the light from the moon to glow.

I jumped to my feet staring at the creature that stared at me. It was snarling, growling. It was slowly coming towards me. I began to run.

I ran back where I came, I guess whoever I was chasing was going to get away, I couldn't just let this beast take me. I turned another corner and found the backdoor to the old sport shop. I opened the door without a problem. I ran inside and locked the door as fast as my trembling body would allow. I ran across the shop and bumped into something. It grabbed me.

It was just the shop owner. "What the fuck are you doing son? We're closed, I'm sorry." the elderly man waved me off. "Sir, there is something...something out there!"

The man seemed startled by my words. "Something?", he asked. "Yes, I'm being chased! It's big, it's furry, I don't know what it is!"

The mans face seemed to relax a bit. "What were you doing in that alley son?" I looked at him for a moment then tried to remember what happened. It had happened so fast I don't know if my mind had even had time for memories. Suddenly it all came back to me. "I chased a man in there that stole my wallet. Then when I came into the alley I ran into that beast."

"Son, you do realize you came from a dead end right?", asked the man. "Really, what does that have to do with...?" He shook his head at me. "Son, you don't think it's weird that the man who robbed you vanished?"

I thought about this for a minute, the shop owner was right. I hadn't seen the criminal when I turned the corner. Perhaps..."the thing might have eaten him?"

The man shook his head. "No kid, that man IS the beast."

CHAPTER 2

I'm Elizabeth, "Liz" is what my friends call me. I was sitting at home watching some crazy man on the news who claims he was attacked by a wolf-like creature after he was mugged in an alley. It's a dog, it can't be anymore than just some rabid dog. That man should get checked out for rabies or something.
Anyway, I was sitting at home minding my own business when there was a knock at my door. I hesitated. The recent murders have made me a little "on edge" lately. I looked through the peephole. It was my boyfriend Kyle. Kyle Johnson, an ordinary guy from New York. His work makes him move alot so I'm trying to enjoy any moment that I do get with him.

I let him in. "Hey Kyle!"

Kyle walked in and gave me a kiss on the cheek. Nothing out of the ordinary at all. He then looked my square in the eye and said the words that made me want to die. I almost fainted right then. Kyle, someone who I was growing rather wanted to never see me again. Without a reason he could tell me. Had I done something wrong? Had I fucked up? No! I couldn't have. Everytime that we've been together we've had nothing but fun. Wait...maybe that was the problem. Maybe we had too much fun. Maybe he wanted something serious? Oh no, maybe I did fuck this up.

After Kyle said what he had to say, he walked out my door without ever looking back. I walked over to my couch, by this time the previously uncomfortable fabric, looked inviting. I was becoming faint. The first relationship that actually looked like it could be serious was now over, for good. I should call him, I thought.

I walked into the kitchen and swung the refridgerator door open. I was suddenly starving. I took out leftover pie, some chicken, and a bottle of soda. I made my way back into the living room.

What I saw next made me drop all the food in my hand on the floor staining my brand new carpet. My white, brand new carpet was now covered in Coke, chicken crumbs, and apple pie. I couldn't worry about it. Normally I would have become psychotic right away, but my eyes were fixed on the giant creature drinking water from my pool. My god, what was it doing? Why did it have to be in my backyard?

I was staring at it through my glass porch door. I realized rather quickly that I wasn't just gazing at him, the beast was leering at me. It stopped drinking. Its crimson eyes reflected the full moon. It started running towards me.
Whatever it was it crashed right through my glass door and into my living room. I was too petrified to move. It came over to me and started to sniff me. It began to snarl as it sniffed my face. It's wet nose pressed against my pale cheeks. I couldn't run, I could startle it. I shouldn't worry about startling it. I should run, try and get away from whatever this thing is. It obviously wants me dead. I don't really stand a chance against this animal. I'm so small and petite. Normally I'm so proud of my size. Suddenly I wished I was butch and much taller. Maybe I could stand a chance fighting back.

Then I felt it, it's teeth sinking into my arm. The pain was unexplainable. I was crying and screaming. Blood began to drip on my nearly perfect white carpet. I'll never get that out.

CHAPTER 3

I wasn't alone. Someone else had encountered the beast that I saw that night. A woman named Elizabeth. According to the news the creature bit her and she got away. She is currently being tested for any diseases. Damn. If the shopkeeper was right and this animal was indeed a werewolf then this girl was in trouble. This girl could turn into one. Couldn't she? Isn't that how the werewolf thing works? Unless that's just a legend. Maybe you can't catch "werewolfness". Then how do you become a werewolf?
I have come to the conclusion that Elizabeth is in danger. She is a werewolf. Or going to be on the next full moon. I have a month to find her. I have to warn her. She has to know that anybody near her is in grave danger. How do you give someone that kind of news?

CHAPTER 4

Wolf Chapter 4

Elaine is my name. I love the bar. I spend most of my time there. My sister is supposed to meet me here soon. As ususal she's late. She's always late. Too good to be on tme. My back hurt and my feet ache and all I wanted is to have a drink with my sister. No, I can't just assume that it would work out like that. She's never on time. My sisters name is Elizabeth. People just call her "Liz" though.

I like the name "Elizabeth" better. Much better. That's just me.

I understand that she was attacked by some kind of creature. That's no excuse for being late, I mean come on, she was sent home fine. She was fine. Wasn't she? I mean, it was just a bite.

I still don't get what bit her. Some newspapers say it was a dog. Some people have called it a wolf. Some have even gone as far as saying that what attacked her was a bear. A bear? In the city? Yeah fucking right. I don't think so. I don't see that happening. So it was probably a wolf.

Damn Liz, why isn't she ever on fucking time? She used to use the excuse that her clock was broken, so I bought her a watch, then she complained that she forget to take care of "Daylight savings time" so I bought her a cell phone. A cell phone is always right. So now she has NO excuses.

These thoughts were racing through my mind when all of the sudden a man ran into the Dubliner (the bar).

"Werewolf! At the front door"

I stood up as well as everybody else. Of course people were shocked. It was a fucking werewolf, I mean if he was telling the truth and if he wasn't mistaken, then It's a big fucking deal. I mean SHIT it's a legend.

I ran ahead of the group. I wanted to see the wolf. The wolf stood up on two legs. It had a horryfying look to it. I saw something in the beasts hands. It was, a cell phone. The creature threw the cell phone to the ground close to the Dubliner, close enough for me to see. The cell phone was...the cell phone belonged to Liz. Had this beast eaten Liz?

Oh my God, I've been mad at Liz for being late. Now I feel guilty. This whole time, she was dead, in the belly of a monster, and all I could worry about is how mad I was. I wasn't mad now. I was scared. This creature had showed up to the Dubliner for a reason.

I seriously doubt he's here for a drink.

CHAPTER 5

I had heard about the attacks at the Dubliner. I was sitting in my living room loading my gun with silver bullets (can't be too safe). I heard my name called from the other room.

"Sammy! Sammy boy! Hurry get in here!"

Everytime someone had exciting news, I was hoping it was about the beast. Ever since I found him in the alley that night. Every since that mugger took my wallet and tried to eat me, I've been fascinated by the very exsistance of the creature.

Im going down there. I want to see it again. Study it. Does that make me dumb? To want to come face to face with a monster killing machine? I don't care. I want to know why this legend has decided to come out now.

Plus I want to be the one to kill it. Sam Willis, Werewolf Hunter. Has a nice ring to it. Doesn't it?
