Nightmarish Girl

If all my dreams made me scream,

Would you call me broken?

If everyone time I spoke a word

Nothing could be heard

Would you see me as a demon?

My hair turns in the wind

To biting and sharp twigs…

I’m like that girl in your nightmares

That always stands alone

Cuts across her face,

Eyes searching for home…

There’s something in the look

Of my mouth upon my face

And the teeth that lay inside

That turns them into fangs

Aren’t I scaring you now?

Like a broken tired toy

That belongs nowhere

But still lies threatening...

I’m like that girl in your nightmares

That always stands alone

Cuts across her face,

Eyes searching for home...
