He's dead. They killed him. I always thought I'd be the one who'd be killed.

But that's unfair to Isa to say that. He protected me as though I was his own child. In my worst dreams, I thought I'd be taken from him. I never thought he'd be the one taken from me.

I never knew how weak it made him to stay in his human form. I never realized he needed to eat, or that how little he slept was out of the ordinary. The only things I knew about dragons I learned from his behavior. I just assumed he acted like other dragons.

But I was wrong. Most dragons don't want anything to do with humans. Most of them won't even waist the energy to take a human form. They're cranky and all they care about is their treasures.

Isa was different... As soon as he saw me he took on a human form because I was scared. He never left my side after that day. Not unless I asked him to, and even then, he was always close by.

I held all dragons to Isa's standard. But he was the only one who behaved in such ways. I didn't know how special he was. I'm sorry, Isa. I should've appreciated you more.
