Iris

Looking out the window

It’s just another day

Watching as the rain falls

I push my sadness all away

Fall hard and angry rain

A smile creeps on my face

Each drop is like a drumbeat

And my heart begins to race

Lash down harder rain

Wipe my emotions all away

So I can finally be calm

And have nothing left to say

Forget about decisions

I’ll leave everything to fate

Don’t care about what’s happening

Don’t care if it’s too late

A little bit of thunder

All I can do is smile

Won’t think about it all

So I can be happy for awhile

Like a wilting iris

I’ll bloom in the rain

Don’t care if it seems crazy

Never wanted to be sane

Looking out the window

I push away all my pain

Finally feeling happy

I just want to watch the rain.
