Chapter 1

It was just like any other Monday at Prairie View High School. Alice Kirsten and I were sitting together in Spanish class. And, like normal, we were passing notes.

Hey Funny Bunny, what’s up? You seemed down yesterday at church.

-Larry (aka, my best friend Alice)

It’s nothing Larry.

-Funny Bunny (me, Zoë)

Funny Bunny, don’t lie. We’ve known each other too long. You can’t get away with lying to me.

-Larry

Funny Bunny, don’t leave us in the dark. We’re your friends, we want to know.

-Starfish (aka, my best friend Kirsten)

Fine, my sister and I got into a huge fight, again.

-Funny Bunny

ABOUT WHAT!?!?

-Starfish and Larry

Sis thinks we are wasting out Sundays going to church, and our lives believing in Jesus.

-Funny Bunny

Oh no! She cannot believe that!

-Starfish

The poor lost thing.

-Larry

I know…but I don’t know what to do. L

-Funny Bunny

Just leave her be for awhile. She’ll hate you even more if you bug her.

-Starfish

I would never guess that Audrey would say or believe such a thing!

-Larry

As the saying goes, I was saved by the bell. I knew that my friends would want to know more about this topic. So, after gathering our books, we said our good-byes and departed.

On my why to English, I ran into someone, literally. Quickly gathering my books I turned to see who I bumped into. I’ll quickly give you a bit of information. The boy I ran into was 5 foot 11 inches, has dark brown hair with blonde highlights, and has green eyes. He was also in track, and I had a major crush on him since, well, ever. It was Jackson.

“Oh, hi Zoë. Sorry about that, I wasn’t paying the slightest bit of attention just now.” Why was he apologizing.

“Um…me neither. Paying attention I mean, I wasn’t paying attention either.” Why do I sound so stupid?

“Sorry. But um… I was wondering if… well” Jackson stopped as the warning bell rang.

“See you Jackson!” I cried over my shoulder as I peeled off to my next class. I was extremely curious. What was Jackson going to say? Did I even want to know?

Do you know those cartoons that all the adults do is go blah-blah-blah? Well then you know my English class.

“Students and teachers, please pay attention. This is a code blue, please follow directions.”

Groaning inwardly, I remembered today’s date, March first, the first Monday of the month. The only good thing about this time of the month was that it wasted class time. I mean come on what do you even expect?
