“Why?” I asked.

“Because I said so,” they replied

“Why?” I asked.

“That’s just the way things are,” they told me.

“Why?” I asked

“I don’t know!” they were frustrated now.

“Why?” I asked

“Those are the rules,” they instructed.

“Why?” I asked.

“Because that’s the way it’s always been,” they believed tradition justified everything.

“Why?” I asked

“Because that’s how things work,” they had no time to explain.

“Why?” I asked.

“Because,” they said, and left no room for argument.

“Why?” I asked.

“Why not?” my friend asked.

And we flew.
