The innocence

And unyielding love

The way they comfort you

When you are at a loss.

The way they smile

At the simplest things.

A ladybug’s touch

Or a butterfly’s wings.

They way they seem to be so smart

Though they have no education.

The way their simple question

Can open a whole new world of exploration.

The way their tender hold

Is so loving and mild.

It’s a pity that the world

Can’t be more like a child.
