What defines beauty?

Searching

What does it mean to be

Beautiful?

Should I pray for long and luscious

Hair?

Should I beg for small and dainty

Feet?

Would I kill to lose those extra

Pounds?

Do I wish I was

Petite?

Can I have the slimmest waist

Alive?

Yet still keep my womanly

Curves?

Will I plea for a face catching every man’s

Eye?

And that’ll work every woman’s

Nerves?

Yet all this hoping, begging, and

Pleas

Have got to come for some kind of

Price

Do I really want to be the kind of

Woman,

Who let’s her outside looks define her

Life?

Is all this beauty that I hold

Dear

That I look upon in such great

Desire,

The right kind of beauty that I’ve wanted so

Long?

The kind that will set examples and

Inspire?

Or is this beauty, this splendor a thing

Unseen

One that can’t be defined by one’s

Looks?

This artificial imitation, faces hid behind the

Mask

That I see so much of on TV and in

Books?
