she said she could feel that her cells were slowly dying
that she was running out of heartbeats and she could feel herself
fading away as a candle in the dark.

& we're all stuck in this fucked-up world
where the smiles are lies and the lies
aren't lies if you don't want them to be,
where reality splinters into a million kaleidoscope distortions.
dizzying, isn't it, so let's just look away now.

i said that snowflakes and people are a lot
alike, the way they just blur together in crowds
the way they crackle when you crush them all underfoot.

or maybe that's just snow, you know,
and i'm not sure of anything anymore
& i'm not listening the words i'm saying
cause i'm crying too much to feel you there.

(she said the only way out of this fucked-up world
is to just. stop. breathing.)
