The night was warm, the chilling days of winter were starting to turn into spring, and they were taking the painful memories with them. The moon wasn’t full, but it gave off enough light so that it was easy to make out certain objects in the dark. A woman was walking alone headed in the direction of home when she heard footsteps behind her.

“Well, look at the little lamb we have here.” Said a menacing voice, and the woman stopped in her tracks, and turned slowly.

“Lamb?” She asked with a raised eyebrow. The man looked a little confused, but brushed it off.

“What do you say we see what you taste like?” The man asked, walking toward her. She took a few steps back, but he was too fast for her, and he caught her with no problem. He laughed a sinister laugh, and brushed long fiery hair from her neck. He saw fear in her frantic green eyes, and lowered his jaws to her neck.

“Now, either you’re new to my breed, or you are just incredibly stupid.” Another voice said; this voice she knew. The vampire holding the girl twitched a bit.

“Get out of here, I’m trying to eat.” The vampire said.

“I’m sorry I can’t do that, you obviously don’t understand the meaning of mine.” The other vampire said walking toward the two.

“What do you mean yours? As far as I’m concerned she’s fresh meat.”

“You notice that strange scent around her?” The other asked stepping into the light. He had short black hair, and black eyes. The other vampire grunted so he went on. “That scent means she belongs to me, and if you even move a single hair out of place on that girl, the Elders will be after your ass in a second.” He said. The vampire released his hold on the girl, and started to hurry away, but the other vampire grabbed him quickly and snapped his neck before he could even react.

“Aidan, are you alright?” the remaining vampire asked. The girl smiled and nodded.

“Mmmm Matt…” she hummed as took her in his arms and their lips met.

“I would have been at the pub, but I picked up some fast food on the way.” Matt explained licking traces of blood from his lips.
