Protecting me

He protects me,

From everything to mud

We are close cousins,

By similar streams of DNA

I understand everything

That he does to protect me.

The thing is,

I have no free will with him around

"Max," I say

On a cold rainy morning.

"As overly protective as you are,

It would be amazing if you

Would at least give me space."

He nods and hugs me.

"All right my cousin,

You have your space."

He says,

And gives me what is promised.
