She’s left alone at nearly seven
She’ll be alone ‘til God knows when
And when there’s luck, if there’s any
One of them will be home by ten
And until then, what will she eat?
And until then, what will she drink?
And until then, what will she watch?
And until then, might she try to leave?
And until then, who’s there to watch her?
And until then, who’s there to say
“That until then, I’ll keep you safe
And until then, with me you’ll stay”?
And until then, who’s there to protect her?
And until then, who will be there?
And until then, who’s there to tell her
“That until then, I promise to care”?
And until then, who’s there to teach her?
And until then, who’s there to play?
And until then, who’s there to comfort
“That until then, you’ll be okay”?
And until then, who’ll tell her stories?
And until then, who’ll kiss her goodnight?
And until then, who’ll give her a doll?
And until then, who’ll keep on the light?
And until then, she’ll cry in her pillow
And until then, she’ll wipe her tears
And until then, she’ll whimper in the dark
Because until then, there's no one to hear
A/N; I made this a little while ago as well. I just like digging up poems, fixing them up, and sticking them on here. Anyways, my aunt (who, might I say, can be rather calm and somewhat emotionless at times) read this poem, and tears were actually streaming down her face. I dunno, I do think it's sorta sad, but nowhere near as depressing as some of my other poems. But either way, I hope you liked it, or at least enjoyed it and please leave a review. )
