Moonlight

Some will say it’s bad to dream,
To hope that the dawn will be new.
When I saw her sitting there my dream began,
Thinking about all the things that I could do.

I could walk away and ignore my heart,
Ignore her smile and her golden hair.
But that I can not ever do,
To see my dream I will now dare.

So I stood and walked over to my hope,
Not forgetting to bring my heart with me.
I did not know one word that I would say,
I had to know if this dream was to be.

I had seen her times before,
But never once with my eyes.
Always a dream that would fade in morning’s light,
Now watching pain and loneliness as it dies.

I felt as if the sky had finally opened,
Looking at a dream standing in the pale moonlight.
My words are never enough to describe my dream,
So beautiful my mind thinks it’s betrayed by sight.
