To Wait

It started a simple request,
To not be turned down.
You did not say yes,
You did not say no,
Your decision I was not to know.

Twice now have I asked,
Did I not say it loud enough before.
Others I knew had whispered their will,
Did they word it a different way,
Yet it was silent to me your would stay.

I could not understand,
Why was I different.
When others had received,
I sat in the corner alone,
You answer I was still not to be shown.

Eight years have passed,
And not once have I forgotten a day.
It’s frustrating for you to remain silent,
Have you not heard my cry,
How my tears have begun to fill the sky.

The time still flows,
As do my eyes.
Again I ask tonight,
As my life is in a sad state,
It is in you always that I wait.
