Got back from the cold and found myself alone
Shut out that icy night walking
Looking for your face

I thought there was just one as I searched the crowd
From a day I will not forget
Hoping to find you

Returning a defeated soldier from war
The lines falling back to trenches
Wishing to see you

Lying face down in the dust and dirt
