The Still Darkness

2.11.2008

Reggie (Authorninjaearth)

Cold, still, blackness, quietness

Covering the entire campus like a thick blanket

Silent, creepy, suspenseful, unexpected

Crackling fire with the sounds of heavy winds blowing down the iron gates

Alone, no one around, weird sounds, the bitter cold

The large lounge is filled with shadows dancing on the walls

Intense, fiery, rash, heat

The presence of a live fire burning on my shirt cooking my cold limbs

Suddenly, a voice, whispering softly and quietly

Emerging from the dancing shadows were the laughter of frightened students

Running from the infinite darkness of the cold night

Quiet, cold, dark, windy, peaceful, creepy

Walking through the corridors with the only brim of light being my flashlight

Doors closed, hallways abandoned, sound of wind knocking on the walls

Shadows dance in the corridor from the light of the bright night stars

Dancing lights move at a quarter speed, coming towards my screaming eyes

My heart beats faster and faster, can't see anyone there...

Just security with a flashlight, students with food, coming to enjoy the show of dancing shadows

Together we endure the passionate bath of flames that blinks on the walls of the lounge

Scary stories, sun chips, and flashlights, the night wheels on by

Dancing by like a running flame heading to the invisible sky

Sleepy, drowsy, scared, suspense

I can feel the surge of energy and imagination screaming in my heart

Write more about this, a new story, being trapped in on a campus due to blackout

Gates closed, only one way out, no place to go, in full darkness

Back to my heatless room, chilly and silent, to sleep I go

Hoping to awake in morning's dawns early light

No classes, just breakfast, guess I can live with that!!
