How do you fall when you can’t say a word,

When you can’t send the most obvious sign?

What do you do when it’s beyond you to say

Hello to the raining skies?

What do you do when you can’t speak,

When the words that you write are your only release?

How does it work then you can’t move the world

And all the music can’t set you free?

Move through the motions

Step out a tune

Watch as the world

Keeps on turning without you

Draw out some figures

Move to the song

Ask all the questions

They answered without you

How do you breathe when you’re silent as stone

And why does the magic need words?

How can I love you all of the time

When you can’t make the lyrics take form?

Where do you stand if you can’t make a sound

And how do you fly if they don’t understand?

How many times do you wish for a way

To talk yourself into dancing?

Move through the motions

Step through the rooms

Watch as the sun

Keeps on shining without you

Sketch out the bodies

Sway to the moon

Questioning the rules

They created without you

How do you drag me under your skin

When you can’t even bring out a sound?

And when did you start talking with your eyes

And helping me make the world move?
