The pounding music fills my ears
And tries to carry me to my haven
It takes me away from all my fears
And knows that I need saving

I let it take me
I let it pervade me
I want to forget what I know

But suddenly it screams things
That make me remember
he things that they sing
Tie me down to earth

So I run away
From the music, from the din
But I find myself standing after the day
With nowhere to run, I turn to the gin

It burns my throat
It sears my mind
It loosens my body
Leaves my thoughts behind

And when it’s gone
I can just lie still till dawn
And my mind is clear so I can’t think
But when I awaken it’s like poison and ink

Everything floods back
Bringing pain to my head
Like I’ve just been attacked
With everything that was said

I don’t wait for the feeling to pass,
I tremulously run once again
Away from the shattered glass,
And into the heavy rainfall

The bitter rain drenches me
It washes the pain away
It drowns me in an entire sea
It numbs all my misery

On the ground I kneel
Let the rain suffuse me
I wait till I can no longer feel

But when the rain lightens
And here I remain
I now can finally see
Nothing can wash away pain

Your lonely, sweet pain
Your misery, your sorrow
Will always be there
For the verge of tomorrow

And running gives you nothing to gain
