It was only a dream

It wasn't real

But when I look back,

That's not how I feel.

Too good to be true

I didn't hold on,

Felt I was thrown away

Like some useless pawn.

Needed to wake up

From the nightmare from hell

There was only one way

To break the spell.

The spell, it was broke

My words did it in,

Yet my problem remains

And my head does spin.

The world seems brighter

All save a few places

These shadows coming

When I look at their faces.

I cannot stay in

And I cannot get out

The demons are loose

I hear them shout.

Why do I stay

I long to be free

Like the bird that flies north

And rests on a tree,

The way out is clear

My head screams that it's right

But the way out is blackness

And blackness I fight.

Tired I am

Of this battle for life

I long to retire

And give up my strife.
