HOW IS THIS HAPPENING?

Destiny was walking home with her best friends, who also happened to be twins, Rei and Laseatia, when it happened. It was the event which would forever change her life, that warm day on the twenty-eighth of August.

Rei had just picked her up, flung Destiny over his shoulder, and begun to spin her. Destiny pounded her fists as hard as she could on his chest while still trying to hold on, as not to fall.

“Rei!! Let me down! Goddammit Imma kill you if you don't put my down this second!!” Destiny screams.

“Yuh-huh, sure you are Dessie.” Rei, along with his twin, laughs.

“Lae!! A little help here please?!”

“I'm--so-s-sorry, If you could j-just see your face right now.” Laseatia says, laughing uncontrollably. “Rei, put her down before she kicks you in the balls.” She laughs again.

“Ooh-wee!!” Rei says as he visibly shutters. “Okay, okay. There ya go.” He says as he sits her on the ground.

“Oh that's it...” Destiny says, clenching her fists. “...You-Are-DEAD!!” She says as Rei waits for the blow to come, but it never does.

“Hey Dessie, what's up?” He asks as he sees her hand fall to her side, her watching a strange man in a leather trench coat walk up. “Who is that?”

“Destiny Marie Calis?” The man asks in a deep bass voice that grated on both Rei and Laseatia's nerves.

“Joseph.” Destiny replies stiffly.

“Girl, who is that?” Laseatia asks.

“Joseph is a friend of family, he has his hands in some...less than reputable dealings.” Destiny says coldly as her eyes lock on those of his beady black ones.

“Destiny, I regret to inform you, that no less than an hour ago, your parents perished, God have mercy on their souls.”

“Ha-ha...WHAT!!” Destiny screams.

“Your parents died.”

Rei quickly grabs her arms and held her back as she tries to attack Joseph.

“Calm down Des.” Rei urges her.

“No!! He's a liar! They can't have—NO!!” She yells softly as she begins to cry.

Rei holds her gently as Joseph leaves and Laseatia walks over to her sobbing friend, her and Rei exchanged a look, they both felt so bad for her, it wasn't every day that this happened, they couldn't even imagine how she felt.

"Destiny..." Laseatia says softly as she touched her friends shoulder.

"Don't touch me!!" Destiny screamed as she took off towards the east.

"FUCK!" Laseatia curses.

"What's up sis."

"Darren."

"She wouldn't go to him, not after what he did to her." Rei says as he looks incredulously at Laseatia.

“You wanna bet, all she wants to do right now is escape, take the pain away. And we both know that he would gladly do that. So tell me again that she wouldn't.” Laseatia says as she bolts into a dead run after her friend.

Rei follows suit and runs along side of Laseatia, she was running much faster than he had remembered, but then again they were both in a rush to hurry and find Destiny before she did something that she would regret. And with Darren in the picture, anything she did around him would lead to something she would regret, and he couldn't stand the repercussions if she did.

Laseatia's thoughts followed those of her twin's, she knew that if Destiny arrived over at Darren's much before they found her that she would inevitably do something that she would regret. And if so, Destiny would beat herself up for it afterwards, she'd already made one attempt on her life because of it. She wanted to hurry and find her before Darren carried things farther than Destiny would normally have stopped, if she was in a sensible state that is. Ahead Destiny came into Laseatia's sights and she sped up her pace, she was severly worried for the girl that she valued as a sister. She heard Rei beside her put on another burst of speed and rush ahead of her. She realized what her twin was planning and winced for Destiny in advance. Rei tackled her to the ground and Destiny started to fight him something fierce.

"Destiny, calm down. We are not going to let you do this to yourself. You know what will happen if you go to him, and you don't want that, I know you don't." Rei said as he tried to break through the haze of grief-filled rage Destiny was experiencing.

"You don't know what your talking about Rei! Let. Me. Go." Destiny said as she thrashed against him.

"I'm sorry for this." Rei said to her remoursfully.

"For what?" Destiny asked but she was cut off as Rei hit her on the back of the head and knocked her out. He stood and picked her up, walking over to Laseatia, who was freaking out.

"What in the hell did you do?" Laseatia's voice rang out panicky against her twin's ears.

"Calm yourself Lae, she's just been knocked out. We need to get her back to our house before she wakes up, because she's gonna be very pissed, and I can garuntee you it'll hit her full-force when she wakes up." Rei said as he received a nod from Laseatia and they journeyed back to their house.
