Power of Reasoning
My excellent power of reasoning,
How it haunts my weary life.
I can't help but notice things,
That aren't shinning in the light.
My dad called it a car in the dark,
Only man kind can see inside the car.
But his ability, and mine,
We can see far.
We have the fog lights on,
We can see a few feet beyond the wheel.
It's not always bad to see what's coming,
But it's always bad to deal.
I can't help but notice,
A way out of every mess.
And I'll try to get out there and do what I know.
My mind puts me to the test.
Feeling alone and feeling watched
Is not a fun feeling to have.
I guess I'm not that different.
From my older, wiser, dad.
I can be surrounded by many,
And I can be surrounded by few.
But no matter the number, no matter the size,
I always feel a darker shade of blue.
If you ever wonder why I'm quiet,
If you ever wonder why I'm mad.
It's always the ability working,
The one I got from my dad.
It cranks in my mind constantly,
I don't know how to shut it off.
I always know what’s coming,
And I know at what cost.
Please don't get mad at me,
If I say 'I told you so'.
But remember my strong power of reasoning,
And I’ll try not to let my forebodence show.
