Is There the One Who Loves?

I look up at the sky and I wonder
What is it that lies above?
Stars, stars, more twinkling stars
But is there the One Who Loves?

I search for Him in places many
In hope that one day, I’ll find I succeed
North, south, east, and west
So sorry to find it’s less than I heed

For what lies before me is a world befallen
An infestation of greed, of vice
Of death, and all mad things between
All stupid, silly lies

Where is the order? The peace?
That a God so good would have brought and restored?
How strong your faith is to stand your ground
When day by day you are made witness
To the births of lies dug up and found
The pitiful deaths of truth

Truly, to believe without as much as a tiny doubt
Is the feat of all feats!
Oh, am I burned up with envy!

For what is it to live
If in the ending,
Is but a great demise met?
We are but souls, but a mere little lending
In the Lord God’s varied set

So follow, follow we must
Follow we must God’s “Holy Plan”
Follow we must to the death!
Follow must any a man

And yet, why serve with both our eyes snapped tightly shut?
Alas!
Why seek truth in what may be a mirage?
Is it because it gives us hope,
Because it brightens up the future, the past?

And if not?
What?—I daresay
Live! What for?
For where lies the meaning of day?

My dears, I am on my knees telling
That I again looked towards the sky and was left to wonder
Do you truly believe
That a God indeed lies yonder?

Answer me.
Please.
